How to Use Family Support Services Funding

Jeyaram & Associates has partnered with all 30+ Family Support Services Providers in Georgia to accept funding for legal training and education for Special Needs Trusts,  Guardianship, and Legal Protections & Financial Resources Roadmap. Family Support Services dollars can be used to pay for a significant portion of your Guardianship and/or Special Needs Estate Planning services and can cover the Legal Protections & Financial Resources Roadmap consult in its entirety. 

If you do not already have approved funds, please apply to a provider in your assigned Region  (Submit both the Family Support Services Application and Agreement). Once you've received approval for funds, then contact us for services.  

➡️ Family Support Services funding can be used for our Guardianship training, which includes our consult on how to secure guardianship on your own. Also, depending on your Provider, you may be able to use your funds for a significant portion of our attorneys helping you with the entire Guardianship process, including attending court with you.*  

➡️ Family Support Services funding can be used for Special Needs Estate Planning services. You can use the funds to cover the entire cost of the initial consult. You can also use the funds to cover a significant portion of the overall Estate Planning cost.* You are responsible for the difference between the cost of training/education and the creation of the Estate Plan. This payment must be received before we schedule our first meeting.  

➡️ Family Support Services funding can be used for our personalized Legal Protections and Financial Resources Roadmap consult. You can use the funds to cover the entire cost of the consult. Payment of FSS funds must be received prior to the consult. 

If you have already been approved for Family Support Services funding.

• Contact us at DJ@JeyLaw.com or 678-325-3872 to let us know which education/training (Guardianship, Special Needs Estate Planning, Legal Protections and Financial Resources Roadmap) you'd like to engage our law firm for. Please include your child's name (who has been awarded FSS funds), their date of birth, their FSS Provider and the amount of their FSS funds.  

• The firm will bill the Provider for payment on your behalf .* Please note, we submit requests for FSS funds as a courtesy. It is the client's responsibility to ensure timely payment. If the FSS Provider does not submit payment within 30 days, the client is responsible for the full amount.  We encourage clients to stay on top of the Providers for payment. 

• We will notify you once payment has been received, and then one of our Attorneys will reach out to you to schedule a meeting. 

• Even if FSS funds cover the full amount of legal training and education, we still require a credit card on file. 

• We will not bill a Provider across fiscal years to pay for our services. For example: If you request for FSS funds to be used in June, we will not go back to the Provider and request the use of the new fiscal year funds in July. 

Most FSS Providers stop accepting invoices at the end of May or beginning of June, as their fiscal year ends June 30th. As a result, the last day Jeyaram & Associates will submit an invoice for FSS funds is May 15th of every fiscal year for those Providers. We resume submission of invoices to request FSS funds on July 1st - the new fiscal year for most FSS Providers.  

Please note, Providers sometimes run out of funds toward the end of their fiscal year and individuals may not have funds available - even if they were notified that they were awarded funds earlier in the year. 

*Invoices cannot be submitted retroactively. For example, if you participate in Guardianship training and pay for the training yourself, you cannot submit an invoice to your Family Support Service provider for reimbursement. We cannot retroactively apply Family Support Services funds for our services. 

*Payment of services varies by Family Support Services Provider.
